Fire up the 358-cubic-inch V-8 NASCAR Winston Cup stock car, take the green flag, and drive your way to glory!

Richard Petty is known as the king of stock car racing. Petty won 200 stock car races, seven Daytona 500s and seven championships, which stood as an unprecedented record until current star Dale Earnhardt matched it in 1994. Petty once won 27 races in a single season and became known as "The King" of stock car racing.

The Richard Petty Driving Experience gives visitors to Orlando the chance to establish themselves as the next king, as they drive a real race car on a real race track at speeds of up to 145 MPH. Located at the Walt Disney World Speedway, the Richard Petty Driving Experience gives its guests all they need to know about operating a race car, then suits them up and straps them in for a wild ride around the Speedway track.

Put your foot on the accelerator, with 600 horsepower at your command. Ahead of you is a true challenge: the mile-long, tri-oval Walt Disney World Speedway. Fire up the 358-cubic-inch V-8 NASCAR Winston Cup stock car, take the green flag, and drive your way to glory!

Drive your own car, or ride shotgun on a 145-mph rocket ride that, until now, you've only taken in your dreams. You'll learn the dos & don'ts of track protocol from a professional driving instructor, giving you the confidence you'll need when you drive or sit shotgun for the ride of your lifetime.

There are a variety of different racing packages available for visitors to the Richard Petty Driving Experience. They range from a simple ride-along experience to a full-fledged 30 lap run around the track.

Ride-Along Program
The Ride-Along program allows guests who may not feel comfortable operating a race car to experience the thrill of riding in one. This program, which is open to walk-ins, teaches guests the basics about race cars, then puts them in the passenger seat for three laps driven by a professional instructor.

Rookie Experience
Reservations are required for the three hour Rookie Experience. Professional instructors teach guests the skills and safety procedures necessary to operate a race car. Then drivers are unleashed on the track for 8 laps at blazing speeds in a real stock car.

King's Experience
The King's Experience expands on the Rookie Experience by adding an extra 10 laps around the track. Once the guests learn the techniques involved in driving a race car, they are allowed 18 laps around the Walt Disney World Speedway. Reservations are required for this experience.

Experience of a Lifetime
The Experience of a Lifetime includes a full day of high-speed thrills at the track. This 7 hour program teaches all of the skills necessary to drive a race car, then lets guests have at it for 30 laps around the track. This is the ultimate in real life auto racing.
