Orange Lake’s four courses will take your game to a whole new level. Rolling
greens, gorgeous fairways and more—all waiting for you.
Orange Lake
Distance from Windsor Hills: approx 2.0 miles
The Legends at Orange Lake
Designer: Arnold Palmer
Yardage: 7,072
Reminiscent of old Scottish-style courses, this wide-open nine will bring windy
conditions into play that can make club selection challenging. Strategically
contoured greens require well-placed approach shots and precision putting. The
longest of Orange Lake's challenging golf holes at 610 yards, The Links hole #4
is a good warm-up before venturing into The Pines.
Towering pines, majestic oaks, winding fairways and flowing water create a
serene setting complementing each hole on the back nine. Tee shots are fired
between strategic openings cut through the trees. A wayward shot here could
result in a ball pushed deep in the woods. Much like the classic courses of
North Carolina, proper club selection and accuracy are required to successfully
navigate through The Pines. The Island Oak, hole #13, is the feature hole at The
Legends course.
Crane's Bend at Orange Lake
Designer: Michael Dasher
Yardage: 1,901
This 9-hole, Par 30 course features 1,901 yards that wind around the resort’s
picturesque fountain lake, while paying tribute to the beautiful wildlife found
here at the resort. Each hole spotlights a different species of bird, and
pristine landscaping with bridges, ponds and other water features inspire you as
you play.
Created by course architect Michael Dasher, who built his reputation with Arthur
Hills & Associates, the new course brings a completely new dimension to the
golfing experience at Orange Lake.
If you’re looking to fit a fast, challenging round into your day, the course’s
9-hole, par 3 and 4 configuration, its end-to-end cart paths, and its demand for
precision make it the perfect option.
The Legends Walk at Orange Lake
Designer: Arnold Palmer
Yardage: 1,581
Legends Walk takes golfers back to the early days of the game as they walk their
way around the links. Winding throughout the North Village, this spectacular
1,581-yard walking course is no ordinary pitch and putt, with holes ranging in
length from 85 to 222 yards. The course is as beautiful as it is challenging
with rolling fairways, rustic water features and pristine tee boxes and greens.
Arnold Palmer and Palmer Course Design Company strategically planned Legends
Walk to challenge golfers of all ages and skill levels. By adding five sets of
tees on each hole, golfers can match the course to their level of skill. This
course may require every club in your golf bag for this balance of water, woods
and sand. Legends Walk serves as a challenging round for experienced golfers or
a great natural classroom for new golfers, and it's an affordable golf outing
that families can experience together.
The Reserve at Orange Lake
Original Designer: Joe Lee, 1982
Redesigned by: Mike Dasher, 2005
18-hole, par 71 course
Architect Mike Dasher transformed the former Resort Course , designed by Joe Lee
in 1982, into this all-new, exciting golf experience. The Reserve at Orange Lake
is now an 18-hole, par 71 course winding through a myriad of water, sand and
rolling greens. It was named The Reserve at Orange Lake to highlight the harmony
between the perfectly manicured greens of the course and the carefully preserved
surrounding wetlands, home to a variety of native plants and wildlife.
Improvements to the layout and course conditions—including new water features
and bunkering—make the course even more challenging than before.
One of The Reserve's most unique holes is hole 12. This newly designed par 3 is
the shortest on the course, requiring an accurate tee shot for par. Surrounding
this green are two deep bunkers to the left and water hazards to the right and
front of the green.
Hole 15 on The Reserve has a new fairway bunker as well as “false front” to the
green. This green complex provides you with many options from which to attack
the pin.
There's even an opportunity for you to finish your round with a birdie!
